Capture

Wright Social knows everyone in the Australian Beef Industry have a unique story to tell. Do you wonder about how to tell yours?

Here are some suggestions. Check them out!

Are you involved in the Australian beef industry? The Australian beef industry is among the best in the world and because of this, we have some of the best stories to tell. However, it can be challenging trying to figure out how to tell those stories not to mention overwhelming!

In this blog we break down how you can use Text,  Visuals, Video, and Audio to create impactful stories. Together, we can make a difference and build positive momentum for our industry, one story at a time.

  1. Text:

Many people love to read as that is how they learn and is still one of the most common ways to tell a story. Text is easier to develop compared to visuals and videos. However just remember that using visuals with text makes more sense if you’re looking to communicate with impact and make your content more memorable. To ensure that readers are engaged, and the message is able to be well received, the text should be:

–        Relatable

–        Personable

–        Interesting

–        Direct (short and sweet)

–        Informal

But how can you share your story through text using social media?

–      Create a blog and link this to your socials

–     Create social media captions to share insights into your journey with a captivating image

–    Create a LinkedIn Article

Got a topic you are passionate about? Write an Article sharing your “why.” Be sure to include key image or video throughout your text to help create interest. Check out Jamie Pepper’s article, Red Meat Industry Ambassador for inspo.

2.     Visuals:

If people don’t learn via text and reading, chances are that they would rather look at visuals. For some, looking at visuals helps to retain information. It’s a known fact that the brain processes visuals 60,000 times faster than text. So how should you craft visuals to make sure they stand out, are memorable, easy to understand and deliver the right message?

Visuals need to be:

–    High resolution

–   Designed to complement the message

– Created to inform logic or emotion (eg chart vs photograph)

– Attract the right attention of your target audience

Now that you have a rough idea on what needs to be involved in your visuals, they need to be unique to you and your story. No one has the same story or journey and visuals need to reflect this.

–        Use your own photos: this makes your visuals unique to you!

–        Create drawings and graphics: it can be difficult to find an existing drawing or graphic to suit your visual so sometimes it is easier to create it yourself. This ensures that the message you want to share, is shared correctly.

– Consider infographics or animation for communicating logic, data or a process

3.     Video and Audio:

With video and audio, the options are endless!  Here are just a few ideas:

–        Video tours of your day to day

–        Overlay audio over visuals and video

–        Create audio only and overlay this on your image (sound bite)

–        Create Reels and Stories and record a voice overlay

Audio allows you to share your story and is a good way to ensure your message and emotions are conveyed easily.

Tips to make your video and audio stand out:

–        Use unique video: take the video yourself

–        Ensure audio is high quality

–        Use the right audio e.g. ensure that the tone and emotion match the video for more congruent storytelling
