This National Agriculture Day we are celebrating everyone who makes agriculture great, including the farmers who feed and cloth us. We’re also reflecting on our own journey in agriculture and why this industry continues to inspire us every single day!

As we look back on the milestones we’ve achieved and the lessons we’ve learned, we feel immense gratitude for the community around us and the progress we’ve made together. This National Ag Day is an opportunity for us to recognise not only the contributions of farmers but also the strength and passion that keeps us motivated to keep growing, learning, and giving back.

My passion for a career in agriculture came from my Year 12 Agricultural teacher, Jennifer Woodward. Learning and exploring the vast world of Ag through Jenny’s passionate and knowledgeable perspective was truly a blessing. What inspired Heidi to pursue a career in agribusiness?

Growing up in the small country town of Cleve, I’ve always held a strong connection to the people behind the food that we consume and the importance of community. Later, we began our journey as a first-generation farming family which opened my eyes to the challenges and rewards of agriculture, where it takes everyone’s skills, perspectives and a huge amount of dedication to produce the food and fiber that feeds the nation.

What excites me most about a future in agriculture? With ongoing advances in science, tech and innovation, there are always new avenues and fresh perspectives to consider. I can leverage my academic study of commerce, marketing and social media marketing to set strategy for agricultural businesses to better connect the innovative solutions to more of the right growers, farmers and pastoralists so they can farm better. Plus, leading a brilliant team of passionate, skilled professionals who make up our Wright Social team and who are genuinely committed to strengthening and growing the ag sector – that is what I value most in this time of my life.
